She draws on her previous experience of working with vulnerable and young people both in conference and in court: she previously worked for the Citizens’ Advice Bureau, advising clients with learning disabilities. She assisted on benefits issues (including drafting appeals), housing, immigration and contract law. She was named the CAB’s Employee of the Year in 2012.
She assists with the bar mock trial competition and is a regular tutor at Lincoln’s Inn residential weekends.

Rosemary Kavanagh prosecutes or defends across the spectrum of cases. As a Level 2 prosecutor, she is regularly instructed to prosecute not only by the CPS but also in actions brought by the police and the local authority.
She appears in the Crown, Youth and magistrates’ courts. She has considerable experience of trials for violent and sexual offences, as well as dishonesty and drugs. She is also regularly instructed for bail applications, POCA hearings and appeals both of conviction and sentence.

R v Hughes – Successfully defended a client against a charge of GBH.
Rosemary Kavanagh specialises in Children Act cases and she is regularly instructed to represent parents, children and local authorities in both private and public law proceedings.
She has extensive experience in various types of cases, from first appointments to reviews, findings-of-fact and final hearings, as well as applications to set aside adoption orders.
Her cross-over with criminal law is hugely beneficial, enabling her to advise clients over a full spectrum of issues they may face.

How much will Rosemary Kavanagh’s services cost?
Rosemary mostly works on a fixed-fee basis for the main hearing, with a daily refresher rate for any subsequent date of hearing, although this depends on the type of work you request. What might influence the timescales of the services Rosemary offers?
Rosemary would normally expect to arrange a preliminary conference with your client within 7 days of first contact from you. After that, despite our best intentions, we can’t always control timescales or the amount of time we spend on a case. These can be affected by factors such as urgency; complexity; your own (or your client’s) availability; Rosemary’s availability and that of any third parties; the volume of documents she needs to review or must request; and the court’s availability.
