Regulatory & Public Law

Specialist knowledge, exceptional experience and a very proactive approach.

Our regulatory and public law  team will handle any type of regulatory and public law case, including judicial reviews. Many of our barristers are approved to conduct VHCC-approved cases (very high cost).

Representing clients

We represent clients charged with offences relating to money-laundering, health & safety breaches, and fraud and cash forfeiture proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) 2002.

Prosecutions on behalf of agencies

We are regularly instructed for the prosecution of individuals by organisations such as DEFRA, the FSA, HMRC and local government authorities.

Inquests and public inquires

Inquests are sensitive and emotive hearings, demanding particular sensitivity and experience. Our barristers offer excellent advocacy, representation and presentation of evidence at all levels of inquisitorial hearings from the pre-inquest review to the inquest itself – with or without juries being present. They will represent either the family of the deceased or professional bodies such as police forces, government agencies and primary care trusts.

Professional cases

Our barristers have conducted cases before a range of sporting and professional bodies including the governing body for English basketball, the GMC, the British Boxing Board of Control, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the police and fire service regulatory bodies, and courts martial.
